Sooner?

There has been some rumbling around lately that the construction of The Blue Royale may begin sooner than we had been thinking. There is a highly recommended basement guy who was here recently for another small project, and it got us wondering, "why not now?" No firm plans have been made, beyond "Maybe we should call the guy next week", so who knows?

If we do finish the basement this winter, that puts me behind the curve though, since I've had little time or attention to spare on thoughts of home theater. The space we have is about 16' by 16', and I do know that square is bad (not sure why, beyond it having to do with the reflections of the sound waves). We can make the room narrower to avoid the square problem, but since we want the row of good seats to be 4 across, we soon run into constraints since these home theater seats seem to be at least 10 feet wide for a row of 4. So, that means that finding seats that fit is the first of many challenges.

Cats are Gone - Still Waiting

The cats left us a few months ago, but we still have no firm plans to begin construction of The Blue Royale.

While we wait, we're enjoying a new Sony TV in the family room.

Waiting For The Cats To Die

In this blog I will track the creation of my basement home theater, to be named "The Blue Royale". I expect actual construction won't begin for several more years. Two main things have to happen first:
1) Need to save some more money
2) The two cats who inhabit said basement must first die

#2 may seem cruel, but I do not want to take the chance of either of these cats in any way damaging or destroying the Blue Royale. They are currently 10 years old, so I figure they must each be on live 6 or 7 at least by now, so hopefully I won't have too much longer to wait.

I wanted to go ahead and reserver this address now, so it will be available to me when I need it. In the meantime, feel free to read my other blogs:
